Terms of Service

Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BrightPath Journal (the "App," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

Who can use BrightPath

BrightPath is intended for use by adults (18 or older) who are parents, guardians, or caregivers logging information about a child in their care. The App itself is not directed at or intended to be used by children.

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, and for keeping your account credentials secure.

What BrightPath is — and isn't

BrightPath is a personal record-keeping tool for tracking a child's behaviour, eating, learning, sleep, and medication over time. It's designed to help you notice patterns and keep organised notes — including ones you might want to share with a doctor, therapist, or teacher.

BrightPath is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and should never be used as a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or educational advice. Always consult a qualified professional about your child's health, development, or care. In a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately — do not rely on this App.

Your account

You sign in to BrightPath using Google Sign-In. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us right away.

Premium subscription

BrightPath offers an optional Premium subscription at £4.99/month, billed through Stripe. Premium removes ads and unlocks unlimited daily logging and additional child profiles.

Your subscription automatically renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Profile → Manage Subscription — cancelling stops future billing, and you keep Premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Refunds are handled according to Stripe's standard payment terms and applicable consumer law in your region; contact us if you believe you were charged in error.

Your content

You own the information you enter into BrightPath about your child. We don't claim ownership of it, and we don't use it to train AI models or sell it to third parties (see our Privacy Policy for the full detail on how we handle it).

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to enter any information you record — for example, information about a child you're the parent or legal guardian of, or otherwise have proper authority to log data about.

Acceptable use

Please don't use BrightPath to:

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account, which permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

BrightPath is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including decisions made based on patterns or reports it shows you — the App is a record-keeping aid, not a substitute for professional judgement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continuing to use BrightPath after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
